The Beverly J. Wright Memorial Tournament was established to honor one of Bev's last requests, which was to "Keep the Ball Rolling." The purpose of this tournament is to raise money for breast cancer research in Bev's name.

Bev served on the Winter Haven Women's Bowling Association Board of Directors, and was a member of the Polk County 700 Club and the Winter Haven 600 Club. She was also inducted into the Winter Haven Hall of Fame.

Bev lost her four-year fight with breast cancer on July 20, 2006. She never gave up. She always thought she would win the battle, but this deadly disease took her away from her loved ones and all those that admired her.

Tournament sponsors, participants, and donors have enabled us to send checks totalling Twenty-One Thousand dollars over the last three years to USBC's Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure. In turn, that money was forwarded to our local Tampa/St. Petersburg Komen Center fund to be used to support women here in the state of Florida.
